Add COMMENTS

Add Departments

  1. Click the ADD CONTENT link from the banner of any getCITED screen. This takes you to the Add to the getCITED database screen.
  2. Click the ADD button beside the DEPARTMENTS heading. This takes you to a Search Institution screen.
  3. Enter an INSTITUTION. After confirming the correct name of the institution, enter the new department name in the Create Department screen.
  4. Click the CREATE DEPARTMENT button to complete the entry.  (Back to top)

Add IDENTITIES

  1. Click the ADD CONTENT link from the banner of any getCITED screen. This takes you to the Add to the getCITED database screen.
  2. Click the ADD button beside the IDENTITIES heading. This takes you to the Create New Identity screen.
  3. Creating a new identity involves a short series of steps. Follow the instructions on the screens to ensure that the identity is created properly.  (Back to top)

Add INSTITUTIONS

  1. Click the ADD CONTENT link from the banner of any getCITED screen. This takes you to the Add to the getCITED database screen.
  2. Click the ADD button beside the INSTITUTIONS heading. This takes you to the Add Institution screen.
  3. Enter the information and click the SUBMIT button.  (Back to top)


Add PUBLICATIONS

  1. Click the ADD CONTENT link from the banner of any getCITED screen. This takes you to the Add to the getCITED database screen.
  2. Select a PUBLICATION TYPE from the pulldown menu and click the ADD button beside the PUBLICATIONS heading. This takes you to an Add Publication Details screen for the publication type you chose.
  3. Enter the appropriate data into the fields.
  4. Click the CONTRIBUTORS box at the bottom of the screen. This takes you to a screen where you can enter contributor names. Or, click the FINISHED box. This takes you to the new publication record.  (Back to top)


Edit CITATIONS

To add, edit or delete CITATIONS, click the EDIT CITATIONS link, located just below the STATISTICS box. Then just follow the instructions on the Link Citations screen.  (Back to top)


Edit IDENTITIES

  1. Go to a getCITED CV (to find a CV, search your name and click on your link).
  2. Scroll down and click the EDIT THE ABOVE INFORMATION button if any information above the box needs editing. Clicking EDIT THE ABOVE INFORMATION takes you to the Edit Identity screen.
  3. Make the changes you want, and click SUBMIT on the bottom of the Edit Identity screen to complete the edit. This returns you to the CV screen.
  4. Click any of the EDIT boxes if the faculty/department, institution/organization, permanent address or current address needs editing. Clicking on an EDIT box takes you to the appropriate edit screen. Once you've made the changes, click SUBMIT to complete the edit and return to the CV.

Members can edit the identities (and publications) of any other member. If you detect inappropriate behaviour on the site, please report it to abuse@getCITED.org.  (Back to top)


Edit PUBLICATION Details

From the publication record, click the EDIT DETAILS link (below the STATISTICS box). This takes you to an edit screen where you can enter changes. Click SUBMIT when you have finished making changes.  (Back to top)


Edit REFERENCES

To add, edit or delete references, click the EDIT REFERENCES link, located just below the STATISTICS box). Then just follow the instructions on the Link References screen.  (Back to top)


Link CONTRIBUTORS

To make or break LINKS of contributors to a publication, go to the publication record. Click the link icon beside the contributor field. This takes you to the Make Identity Links screen. Follow the instructions on this screen to complete the link.  (Back to top)


Edit PARENT PUBLICATION Links

To make or change the LINK between PARENT and child publications, go to the publication record. Click the link icon beside the parent publication field. The title of the field changes depending on the publication type:

  • For journal articles, the title is JOURNAL
  • For books, the title is SERIES TITLE
  • For conference papers, the title is CONFERENCE

This takes you to the Make Identity Links screen. Follow the instructions on this screen to complete the link. (Back to top)


Link Publishers

To make or change LINKS of publishers to a publication, go to the publication record. Click the link icon beside the publisher field. This takes you to the Link Publisher screen. Follow the instructions on this screen to complete the link.  (Back to top)
