PubRatings
help/glossary/PubRatings
UPDATED: 02/07/31 07:27

You can rate what you think is the quality of a PUBLICATION, and how much it interested you. RATINGS are made on a scale of 1 to 7, with 7 being the highest rating. RATINGS are continuously updated and the most current results are displayed in the STATISTICS box in the publication record. Displayed results include two things: the total number of RATINGS, and the average RATINGS (calculated by dividing the sum of all RATINGS by the number of all RATINGS). Only getCITED members can rate publications.

You can only rate a PUBLICATION once. However, you can change your RATINGS at any time.

There are no established guidelines or criteria for rating publications, but there are no secrets either! All individual RATINGS can be viewed by clicking the average rating link. This brings up a "scorecard" that displays the members who rated the publication, the date of the RATINGS, and the RATINGS themselves. Members' names are displayed as LINKS, so  that you can quickly acknowledge (or challenge!) those peers who rated your publication.

Note that PARENT PUBLICATIONS have RATINGS listed, but do not allow you to rate the publication itself. That's because the rating is based on the RATINGS of child publications within the parent.

Members are also encouraged to provide more detailed responses to publications by e-mailing other members or posting COMMENTS on the onlineAGORA.
