ABSTRACT:
The Business of Sport Management is a revolutionary text, long awaited by sport management enthusiasts. The text consists of chapters written by various authors, detailing the context of the sport industry and discusses busienss functions as they are applied to sport. The reader gains an insite into research that is relevant to understanding busines and management but more importantly, research in the field of sport business and management is highlighted throughout. Chapter 10 aims to give readers an introduction to the concept of operations management in the context of sport. While there are many texts on operations, and some research conducted on sport operations management, this chapter provides the first attempt to bring many of these sources together. Case studies are included to illustrate theoretical concepts.
