In this article, the author reminds the reader of some key concepts of the Afro-Carribbean psychiatrist and revolutionary, Frantz Fanon, which are regaining their revolutionary validity in the present international context in which the desperate run on strategic natural resources has given way to a kind of recolonization of key regions in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The ideological reasons that accompany the direct interventions of the West are nothing but a reedition of the old colonial, racist ‘argument’ that holds up the incapacity of Third World peoples to govern themselves alone, reason for which a ‘moral obligation’ is being claimed to take the reins and conduct their destinies. This is why the thought of Frantz Fanon can serve as an orientation for the processes of resistance to postmodern imperialism, that are developing presently in Latin America.

En este artículo el autor retrae a la memoria algunos conceptos claves del médico-psiquiatra y revolucionario afro-caribeńo, Frantz Fanon, que recobran su vigencia revolucionaria en el actual contexto internacional en el que la carrera desesperada por los recursos naturales estratégicos ha desembocado en una especie de ‘recolonización’ de regiones claves en África, Asia y América Latina. Las razones ideológicas que acompańan las intervenciones directas de Occidente no son más que una reedición del viejo ‘argumento’ colonialista-racista que sostiene la incapacidad de los pueblos del Tercer Mundo de gobernarse a sí mismos, por lo que se esgrime un ‘deber moral’ de tener que tomar las riendas en la conducción de sus destinos. Es por eso que el pensamiento de Frantz Fanon puede servir de orientación para los procesos de resistencia a este imperialismo postmoderno, que se están desarrollando actualmente en nuestra América Latina.
